Location 1: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage
One of the most popular attractions of Sri Lanka, the 24 acres Pinnawala Elephant
Orphanage is a safe and protected environment for the wild Asian elephants. 40 kilometers
from Kandy, here one could see elephants bathing, feeding and enjoying various activities.
It was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC). In 2011,
96 elephants, including 43 males and 68 females, were taken care of in the orphanage.

Location 1: Temple of Tooth Relic
A world heritage, as well as a sacred place for Buddhists all over the world, Temple of Tooth Relic
(also known as Dalada Maligawa), preserves a sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Tourists are not allowed
to see the tooth. However, they can see the gold casket, shaped like a dagoba (stupa), within which
it is said to be is displayed twice a day. Along with the main temple, it features a series of smaller
temples, shrines and museums. It is suggested to wear clothes that cover legs and shoulders during a visit
to the temple. Also, tourists should remove shoes before entering the temple.
Location 2: Kandy Lake
Kandy Lake, also known as Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk is a charming tourist attraction located in the heart of Kandy,
Sri Lanka. The lake was built by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1807. Although the lake has reduced in size over the years,
the beauty of the lake still remains ethereal. Right next to the lake, sits the Temple of the Tooth and the centre of the lake
is adorned with an enchanting palm tree island. According to legends, this small island was used by the king’s helm for bathing
and was connected to the palace by a secret tunnel. One can enjoy the beauty of the lake by taking a long stroll around. Visitors
should note that fishing is banned in Kandy Lake.
Location 3: Peradeniya Botanical Garden
Famous for its rich and unique collection of numerous species of plants, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens is a prime attraction of Kandy.
Located approximately 5.6 km away from Kandy and sprawling over an area of 147 acres, the highlights of this elegant garden include
Giant Bamboo of Burma, a century-old giant Javan fig tree, the intriguing Cannonball tree, Double Coconut Palms along with other 200
varieties of palms in the garden and a beautiful collection of flora.
Tourists can bring food and also enjoy picnics here or try local
cuisine from the cafeteria located inside the garden.

The best way to immerse in Sri Lankan culture and tradition is to witness the vibrant cultural
dance show in Kandy. one can enjoy the various Kandyan dance forms which were native to the area
and later on spread to different regions of the Island. The dance performances depict the graceful
movements of birds and animals by the artists such as the majestic walk of the elephant, the mystical
movements of the cobra, and the colourful performance of the peacock. The dramatic fire-walk is the
highlight of the show where the artists walk barefoot through red-hot charcoal covered fire-pit without
getting harmed. Through this cultural dance show, visitors get a chance to get in touch with the rich
cultural heritage of Sri Lanka.

Location 1: Hanuman Temple
Built and maintained by Chinmaya Mission Srilanka, This is a holy temple from the Epic Ramayana
period made here in the memory of Lord Hanuman. The temple is spread across 10 acres of land and
has a 16 feet tall Hanuman idol carved into a striking figure from black granite, on a picturesque
hilltop and provides a lush green view of the valley behind the temple.Poojas are performed and witnessed
by devotees every month on Poornima-full moon day Knees should be covered before entering into the temple.
Location 2: Ramboda Falls
Located at an altitude of 945 meters above sea level, the Ramoda Falls are one of the most visited waterfalls
in Nuwara Eliya. The middle part of the three tiered waterfall can be seen from the A5 highway road. The base
of the Ramoda Falls offer a complete view of the falls which is a sight to behold.
One can also hike up to the top of the waterfall and enjoy the soft sounds of the gushing water along with
the misty environs. The area offers an amazing opportunity to take stunning photographs against the backdrop
of this truly breathtaking waterfall. Visitors who would like to stay near this scenic waterfall could also

Also known as the Ashok Vatika, the Seetha Elia is a sacred temple which was established at the same place where Seetha,
the wife of Lord Rama, was kept as a prisoner of King Ravana. It is also one of the very few temples that is dedicated
to Seetha. The prime attraction of this temple is the giant footprint of Lord Hanuman who visited Ashok Vatika in search
of Seetha. Nearby the temple a small stream of river flows where it is believed, Seetha used to take bath. The temple is
thronged by tourists and locals alike through out the year. Please note, visitors are suggested to dress modestly to respect
the religious sentiments of the temple.
Location 5: Victoria Park
Srinagar, India
Vouched as one of the most attractive gardens of Nuwara Eliya, Victoria Park nurtures a wide and colorful
variety of flowers. Originally the park was a research field for the Hakgala Botanical garden. In 1897, it was formally renamed as
Victoria Park to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The very first tree of the park was an Oak tree, planted by a visiting
German princess. Apart from the marvelous flora, Victoria Park is also home to a rare species of birds. A number of small lakes created
by river Nanu Oya enhance the beauty of the park, and a miniature ridable train along with a small playground makes it an ideal place to
enjoy some fun family time.

Location 1: Old Parliament Building
Located at a distance of about 4 kilometers from Colombo, the Old Parliament Building is one of the most important attractions of Colombo.
The building was established on January, 1930 by Governor Sir Herbert Stanley. Designated as the Parliament of Sri Lanka in 1977, the parliament
was then moved to Sri Jayawardenapura Jotte in 1983 and at present day it is home to the Presidential Secretariat. The faded yellow building features
a neo-baroque style of architecture and the garden at the front of the building is dotted with various bronze statues of important statesmen which includes
Rt Hon D.S Senanayake, Hon Dudley Senanayake and general Sir John Kotalawela. Visitors can admire this stunning masterpiece from colonial era and capture
its imposing structure in their cameras.
Location 2: Viharamahadevi Park
Counted amongst the biggest parks in the city, Viharamahadevi Park, formally known as Victoria Park, was built by some well-known British architects.
Pre-independence, the park hosted the British Army during the World War 2, Australian Army of the 17th Brigade and even hosted many cricket matches.
The park welcomes visitors with a huge Buddha statue. Inside the park, there are water fountains, a small zoo and a play area for children. On the Eastern
side of the museum, there's a small aquarium that has a decent collection of rare local fish.
Location 3: Fort District
Fort district is one of the central commercial hubs of the city and is home to Colombo Stock Exchange and the World Trade Centre. The Bank of Ceylon headquarters
is also located here. Situated in the middle of Galle road and the Indian Ocean is the Galle Face Green Promenade which was built under Sir Henry George Ward,
the Governor of Ceylon, in 1859. Within the Fort District hotels, government departments, offices and the General Post Office can also be found here. Car itineraries
usually do not include an extended stop here, therefore keep a lookout while you pass by this attraction.
Location 4: Galle Face Green
Colombo's biggest seaside promenade and an ocean-side park, Galle Face Green offers the best view of the sunset. Initially put to plan in 1850 by Governor Sir Henry George Ward,
the places used to act as a golf course where horse racing used to take place. According to locals, the promenade was built for the ‘fair ladies’ to get some fresh air while a few
others say that it was initially planned by the Dutch, to place a straight line of cannons across the promenade against Portuguese. While walking on the beautiful strip covered with
grass, one could see sky touching buildings and towers. Car itineraries usually do not include an extended stop here, therefore keep a lookout while you pass by this attraction.
Location 5: Independence Square
Located in the prestigious Cinnamon Gardens district of Colombo, the Independence square is a popular tourist attraction. The place takes its name from the Independence
Memorial Hall which was built to commemorate the independence of Sri Lanka from British rule in 19948. The Hall is situated within the square and is used for ceremonial occasions.
The hall is surrounded by lion statues and the columns and pillars feature a traditional Srilankan design. There's is also the Independence Memorial Museum in its basement.
Many tourists visit the square to walk around its spacious boulevards or relax under the shade of trees as they explore the city. In one of the former colonial government
buildings, there is a shopping arcade decorated with fountains and covered ponds. Car itineraries usually do not include an extended stop here, therefore keep a lookout
while you pass by this attraction.
